Career Services

Prior collaboration with One-Stop-Career Centers was somewhat limited; therefore, the program will improve on the current cooperative and networking system and work in partnership with multiple one-stop-centers within the 122 counties that the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo (YDSP) Tigua Indian Employment and Training Program (TIETP) is designated to serve. The service delivery area is expansive and spans from far west Texas to the panhandle and south central Texas. Hence, the program will work to negotiate new collaborations with one-stop partners and team up organizations and employers within service areas to increase its reach to potential participants.

By increasing the number of one-stop centers that the program does business with the YDSP TIETP will also be enhanced and be empowered to broaden its reach to native residents and employers especially in rural and tribal communities. In doing so, the program can also more fully integrate a wide-range of services by means of intensifying YDSP TIETP resources via the promotion of linkages of clients to one-stop-centers. Because this program is aware of Native American social issues and reservation needs, it can also incorporate its tribal knowledge base to create an effective service delivery model that is receptive to Native American needs and that will contribute to the development of native communities.

Networking links, involvement and interaction with other workforce development boards and one-stop-career centers will permit the program to provide a greater range of services to Native Americans. Also, information sharing will promote the knowledge base of all entities and create cohesiveness among regional workforce providers and employers.
